Masonboro Island, a pristine barrier island off the coast of North Carolina, stands as a natural sanctuary teeming with ecological diversity and untouched beauty. Spanning over 8 miles in length, Masonboro Island is the longest undisturbed barrier island ecosystem in southern North Carolina. The island’s salt marshes, tidal flats, and maritime forests create a unique ecosystem that supports a wide range of flora and fauna.
